ELECTRICAL FAULTS

GAS FAULTS
Most gas or fuel faults found in hot water systems display syptoms of tepid or cold water passing through the hot taps. This could be a gas supply, mechanical or ignition problem. SOLAR FAULTS
At New Zealand Hot Water we are specialists in finding & repairing all types of solar hot water faults. Most solar hot water systems rely on the sun and ambient temperature to heat stored water for later use. There is 2 types of passive solar hot water heaters:

1- Tank on roof above the panels (Close coupled system)
2- Tank on ground - panels on the roof (Split system).
Solar heating should only ever be viewed as a supplement only & still relies on Electric or gas boosting to top up the pre-heated water for except-able use.

How dose a solar works?
1- Close coupled tanks are purely thermal syphon and have minimal mechanical application relying on heat rise from the panel to the higher positioned tank to create a syhon.
​
2- Split systems are mechanically aided as water is pumped from a lower tank to the panel and returned warm to be stored back in the cylinder.
​
Some of the most common faults with solar hot water heaters are dirty or failed solar panels, seized pumps, failed heat sensors, failed tempering or pressure relief valves and or undetected faults in the top up booster systems.
